Rob Pirie is the Chief Executive Officer, and prior thereto Managing Partner at MCF. His responsibilities include overseeing the everyday operation and internal function of the company. Rob has been working closely with MCF since 2003, offering almost 20 years of experience in equity lending. His passion for construction and considerable experience in lending has been an asset to MCF’s success, allowing the firm to expand at a rapid pace.
Prior to joining MCF, Rob completed his Canadian Securities Course, the Conduct and Practices Course, the Options and Derivatives Course, the Mortgage Agents Course, and the Officers’, Partners’, and Directors’ Course. Along with these credentials, Rob was previously employed as an Equity Trader at Bank of Montreal from 1998 to 2002. After gaining extensive knowledge in the industry, Rob founded a successful business venture, RLS Pirie Mortgages Inc. Rob’s company was acquired by MCF in 2010, and his expertise had a significant impact on the firm’s evolution into one of the leading private, non-bank lenders in the industry.
Outside of MCF, Rob has won five national titles for professional cycling as a member of Canada’s national team, as well as two world championships. He volunteers for various charitable events and fundraisers.
Sean McKay has been with MCF Investments since 1996. Sean has served many roles throughout the years, including Underwriting, Accounts Receivable, and Investor Relations. His current duties include day-to-day responsibility for all internal operations, as well as the continual overseeing of Accounting and administration of Renewals. Sean also championed the Mortgage Investment Corporation (MIC), the advantage that MCF holds above other asset management firms. Through the company’s proven track record, Sean has demonstrated the success and security of a disciplined investment approach, thereby strengthening MCF’s distinct reputation in the mortgage business industry.
Prior to joining MCF, Sean graduated with Honours in Business Management. He has completed the Financial Services Underwriting Diploma program, as well as a range of industry-recognized courses such as the Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) License. After working at Enbridge Gas as a Pipeline Inspector for a brief period, Sean decided to apply his expertise and knowledge to MCF. For several decades, Sean has helped pave the path for the firm’s quick growth and expansion, allowing the firm to become a leading pioneer in asset management and mortgage investments.
Outside of the firm, Sean spends weekends at the cottage with Rob Pirie, a lifelong friend and business partner, and Sean enjoys snowboarding, skiing, boating, and football. He married the girl next door and has been with her for more than 20 years. They now reside with their two kids in Newmarket.
Korin Wilson oversees daily operations and manages Investor Relations and Underwriting. She is highly involved with Renewals, Appraisals, Accounts Receivable, and Payouts and her role also includes Quality Assurance and general duties in Human Resources. Since her employment with MCF in 2004, Korin has been appointed to all positions in the office and has executed tasks within each capacity, moving up the ranks from Office Assistant, to Underwriter, to Operations Manager to her current position as Vice President.
Prior to joining MCF, Korin completed the Law Clerk diploma program at Seneca College in 2002. She has also completed the Exempt Market Products Course, the Officers’, Partners’, and Directors’ Course, and the Mortgage Agents Course over her years working at MCF. The combination of her professional advancement within the firm and her personal education has provided Korin with an extensive understanding of the business and more than 15 years of experience in the investment industry. She has also implemented core processes and systems to the firm, progressing MCF to consistently achieve higher returns and, in turn, developing MCF into the well-oiled machine it is today.
Outside of work, Korin is the Treasurer of the Riptide Competitive Ladies Volleyball Association and Coach of Riptide’s Little Rippers Youth Division. In her spare time, she participates in town fundraisers and community food bank drives, along with her husband and two children.
Chad Mooney has been the Business Development Manager at MCF since 2012. His responsibilities range from maintaining the firm’s large network of mortgage brokers, liaising with potential agents, developing business strategies, and generating investments for the firm. His role also includes establishing relationships with second mortgage providers, marketing, and implementing additional services to brokers.
Prior to joining MCF, Chad completed the Agent and Brokerage courses at Seneca College in 2002 and worked for several different brokerages. He went on to complete the REMIC Mortgage Agent Course and the Ontario Mortgage Brokerage Course. After obtaining over 10 years of knowledge and experience in the mortgage business, Chad co-founded a successful mortgage brokerage that is still in operation. His company soon gained recognition and became an eminent leader in the industry within three years of its conception in 2010. Since his transition to MCF, Chad’s professional background and comprehensive insight in mortgage brokering has transformed MCF into the true equity lender that it is today.
Chad is an avid fan of outdoor sports, including hockey, skiing, snowmobiling, swimming, wakeboarding, and jetskiing. He lives with his wife and two children in Innisfil.
Amanda works with the team as an Analyst. Previous to joining MCF Amanda worked for 16 years as an Institutional Equity Trader of Canadian, US and International Securities, most recently for 11 years with Gluskin Sheff + Associates. Amanda received her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto, specializing in Finance and Economics as well as several courses from the Canadian Securities Institiute. Amanda was President of the Institutional Equity Traders Association of Toronto, a member of the board of both the Canadian Security Traders Association (CSTA) and the US Security Traders Association (STA) as well an active member of Women in Capital Markets.
Andrea works as an Administrative Underwriter and is also responsible for mortgage fulfillment at MCF. Andrea graduated from the Law Clerk program at Seneca College in 2011. Prior to joining MCF, Andrea was employed at Service Ontario as a Dealer/Licensing clerk performing various Government Administrative duties.
Ashley joined our team in January 2017 and works as a mortgage administrator. She handles all collection matters, including correspondence with borrowers, lawyers and real estate agents. Ashley previously worked as a law clerk and administrative assistant, dealing with corporate collections and recovery.
Dina manages the underwriting department, ensuring workflow of all files are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner. Her responsibilities include discussing deals with mortgage brokers, reviewing appraisals and underwriting the many mortgage files we always have on the go. Dina joined MCF in 2012 after 14 years at Royal Bank’s head office in downtown Toronto, where she supported various senior level executives.
Jeff works as an administrator handling investor paperwork and assisting with the set up and transferring of registered accounts. Jeff has a background in both the mortgage and financial industry. He has received a Diploma in Marketing and Advertising, completed the mortgage agent/broker course and has a mutual funds license.
Jessica assists with the day to day dealings of our mortgage administration. Her duties include keeping records up to date, assisting clients with their payments, tax and Insurance requirements. Jessica joined our team in June of 2016 and has more than 13 years’ experience in the industry.
Kellie assists many members of the firm in her role as project coordinator. She is responsible for managing special projects. Kellie has been with MCF since 1999.
Maria is responsible for day-to-day accounting. Maria also assists in evaluating the financial details of the mortgage investments of the firm. Maria graduated with Honours from Humber College in Business Administration.
Richard founded MCF Investments in its prior form in 1975. Through the years he has grown the firm from its small beginnings to a multi-million dollar asset manager and leading non-bank mortgage lender.
Sara’s duties include supporting the partners, managing renewals and dealing with corporate affairs. Prior to joining MCF, Sara held positions at North Shore credit union and National Bank. Sara has completed several industry courses including the Canadian Securities Course and Mutual funds course.
Sheri manages the distribution of Mortgage Statements and ensures all issues relating thereto are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner. She liaises with Borrowers, Mortgage Brokers, Financial Institutions, and Lawyers to complete transactions on schedule. Sheri has 25 plus years’ experience at a Real Estate Law Firm, specializing in mortgage administrative dealings and Investor Relations. Sheri has completed the Law Clerk Diploma program at Seneca College.
